The Dolomites Inn is our first hotel in the Mountain Collection family in the huge 1220km Dolomites ski area. It lies in the popular Val di Fassa in peaceful and sunny Penia di Canazei, just 1km from neighbouring Alba and 3km from lively Canazei centre.
For 2018/19, we've decided to change the hotel to a chalet hotel. Everything else stays the same, it’s just the board basis that will change from half board to our popular chalet board. This offers the same daily breakfast and afternoon tea, but now with six evening meals which include complimentary wine.
The style of the hotel is traditionally Tyrolean with strong ties to local Ladin traditions. These are evident in the comfortable bar and gorgeous stube with its traditional wood burning stove. It makes an ideal setting to exchange exploits of your days on the seemingly endless pistes.
Relaxing is made easy for you thanks to the small wellness area. Ease ski legs in the hot tub or sauna, or work off some of the delicious food and wine in the hotel’s squash courts – not something you see every day.

Penia di Canazei is a picturesque and traditional village nestled in the stunning Val di Fassa. If you're looking for a tranquil base to explore the incredible 1220km of snowsure Dolomiti pistes and Marmolada Glacier, this is it. Access to the renowned 40km Sella Ronda circuit is easy thanks to the Alba-Col dei Rossi gondola just down the road.
Evenings are laid-back in Penia itself but the Dolomites Inn is a lovely place to spend quality time with family and friends. That's not to say you don't have options as there are plenty. Neighbouring Alba has a good selection of bars to visit straight off the slopes.
Beyond that, Canazei has some great shopping plus a wide range of bars and restaurants to sample the extraordinarily good local cuisine. There's even a nightclub for the night owls. Taxis run right up until 4am so there's no chance of getting stranded.
Being surrounded by the towering snow-capped peaks of Belvedere Mountain and the Marmolada glacier makes for some jaw-dropping scenery. It's definitely worth trying activities like snowshoeing or cross-country skiing to discover hidden parts of the area.

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Breakfast is a fairly extensive affair with cooked and continental options every day. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.
Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and served with complimentary wine, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.
Each of the 29 rooms is really spacious with a balcony to admire the beautiful Dolomites mountain scenery. Facilities include Wi-Fi, a flatscreen TV and full ensuite bathroom with bath or shower and wc.
Most rooms sleep two to three people, but there is a single room plus an apartment for four also available.
When you pre-book equipment hire with us, you can also enjoy our hassle-free delivery service. Simply head to the equipment hire shop on arrival day (about a 10-15min walk), get fitted for your hire kit and the shop will deliver it to the hotel later that day. On the last day of your holiday, simply head back to the shop and drop the kit off.
Don’t forget that you get free guiding and coaching throughout the week from fully qualified ski and board instructors with our Mountain Expert service.
Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.
There will be at least 12 hours of sessions a week and we guarantee each guest at least two sessions a week. Your hosts will explain how it works when you get there.
