The 15 person Chalet Ruby is a little gem in the heart of Les Deux Alpes. It's made of local stone and was a farm cottage in a previous life. Its small exterior hides a deceptively spacious chalet.

It’s been renovated to a high standard and has a modern, contemporary feel thanks to crystal white walls and warming colours. You’ll find it in the old town, down a quiet side street and just 300m from the high-speed six-person Diable chairlift.

The eight guest rooms are split over two floors. Each is ensuite and all are a really good size with plenty of storage for all that you bring with you.

Relax with friends and family in the large lounge with its huge, comfy corner sofas and a roaring wood burner, ideal for warming feet as well as the soul. After a delicious afternoon treat of fresh cakes and biscuits, head into the dining area and enjoy a home cooked meal on the huge farmhouse table.

About the resort

A great example of an all-rounder. Long hours of sunshine (when it's not snowing) and snowsure slopes certainly help, but Les Deux Alpes is all about the variety of things to do, both on and off the mountain.

A superb resort for families (one of our top 10), groups and all standards of skier or boarder. Beginner slopes near the resort and on the glacier make it a great place to learn whilst enjoying the glorious mountains rising up all around you. Intermediates have plenty of choice while experts should hire a guide and test their freeriding ability on the legendary off-piste runs of the ominously named La Grave.

The resort is large and well laid out with two main roads; one in, one out. Along each road, you'll come across an excellent range of sports shops, gift shops, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets. The après-ski is as lively as you want it to be with over 40 bars, restaurants and nightclubs on your doorstep.

Food and drink

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Start every morning with an extensive continental breakfast, and cooked options on most days. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and free-flowing wine throughout the week, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

Rooms

The Ruby sleeps 15 people in eight great sized ensuite bedrooms. There's a choice of twins or doubles so it suits groups of friends really well.

Each room is light and bright with a tastefully-done mix of modern and traditional wooden furniture. The bathrooms all have a shower and wc. Rooms on the top floor have sloping ceilings but are still a good size. You'll also find luxurious Temple Spa toiletries in each bathroom.

Neilson Mountain Experts

Don’t forget that you get free guiding and coaching throughout the week from fully qualified ski and board instructors with our Mountain Expert service.

Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.

There are at least three sessions a week and we guarantee each guest at least two sessions a week. Your hosts will explain how it works when you get there.
