It's an apartment-style chalet which has recently been fully renovated to a good standard to provide a slice of modern style amongst plenty of traditional features. There's lots of wooden furnishings along with two new shower rooms and good sized lounge area.

Being close the frozen lake in Tignes means your views are pretty special. The entrance looks out over the lake itself and Tovière mountain, while the back looks out towards the Grande Motte glacier! The ski bus stops just 100m from the chalet and will take you to either Val Claret or Le Lac for easy access to the lifts and slopes.

About the resort

Tignes is one of the most snowsure resorts in Europe. It's 2100m up in the high Tarantaise area of the French Alps where the skiing tops out at a breathless 3456m. It also happens to have some of the most exciting and challenging terrain in the world.

The resort is split into two villages; Le Lac nestles on the shores of a frozen lake with beautiful views of Toviére mountain and the Grande Motte glacier. It's an ideal springboard into the massive Tignes - Val d'Isère ski area and has a good après-ski scene too. Val Claret sits around the other side of the lake at the bottom of the Grande Motte glacier and is the livelier of the two resorts.

It forms one half of the vast 300km Tignes - Val d'Isère area and it's just a quick drop over the hill (and a slightly eye-watering chairlift ride) into neighbouring Val d'Isère. The area suits all levels of skier and snowboarder, but intermediates and advanced levels won't be able to stop grinning as it was seemingly created with them in mind!

It's not just on the mountain where the smiles happen. Try ice driving, paragliding or even ice diving under the frozen lake. For something a bit more laid back, head to the Lagon Aqua and Well-being Centre. It has swimming pools, water slides, hot tubs, saunas - basically everything you need to help you unwind or fill an afternoon off the slopes.
