My very own Greek Odyssey: a sailing trip to the island of Ithaca

We sailed with Neilson Holidays, which has a mainland base near Palairos on the Ionian Sea. Depending on experience and qualifications, you can either follow a flotilla or go it alone. The Neilson support crew proved to be our secret weapon in finding the right adventures: they knew every cove and cave in the region, and were quick to share their knowledge.

This Turkish resort is a mecca for watersports

I have come to Cook’s Club Adakoy, an adults-only resort on Turkey’s Lycian Coast. These calm, raki-clear waters are fast establishing themselves as a haven for watersports — with temperatures above 20C even in April and flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow going straight to Dalaman.
