Make the most of your time on the mountain with our Neilson Mountain Experts. Fully qualified ski and snowboard instructors, they'll help confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders discover the best of the local ski area through complimentary guiding sessions. Looking to sharpen your technique? Join one of their free coaching sessions and build confidence on the slopes.
Room to roam
From the Casale, it’s a short stroll to the El Tarter chair and 210km of Grandvalira beyond it. Beginners can find their feet with the Grandvalira Ski School, while confident intermediates have seven sectors to work through at their own pace. Keep an eye out for the hidden igloos on the mountain, handy for a hot drink and a breather before the next run. Then it’s back to the Casale for afternoon tea and a drink at the bar.
Around the resort
Life in El Tarter isn't all about chasing fresh tracks. Off the mountain, you'll find cosy bars, relaxed restaurants and plenty of spots to sit back and soak up the Pyrenean views. If the mood takes you, L'Abarset is nearby for a more energetic après experience. And with Andorra's famous duty-free shopping within easy reach, it's worth leaving a little room in your suitcase.

Our chalet board keeps you fuelled from first lift to last run, with daily breakfast, freshly baked afternoon tea, and a three-course evening meal with wine and coffee on six nights a week. One evening is yours to explore the resort.

You've finished another epic day on the mountain, and one guilty pleasure you're sure to have embraced by now is our daily afternoon tea and cake. Freshly baked sweet treats, served alongside tea and coffee, have become something of a Neilson institution and the perfect reward after a day well spent on the slopes.

The cosy bar is the heart of Chalet Casale, drawing a social après crowd each evening. Grab a drink, swap stories from the slopes and settle in beneath the original beams.

Accommodation
The chalet hotel sleeps 38 people in 19 large, light and simply furnished twin rooms. Each has its own ensuite bathroom with a bath, shower and wc. You'll also find luxurious TEMPLESPA toiletries in each bathroom.
Local tourist taxes are payable by you when you check out of Hotel Del Clos. The charge is €1.61 per person per night (correct as of February 2025 and for those over 16yrs old).

El Tarter puts you right in the heart of Grandvalira, the largest ski area in the Pyrenees. With 210km of pistes across seven linked sectors, you can head somewhere new every day, taking in neighbouring resorts like Soldeu, Canillo and Pas de la Casa along the way. The snow is reliable through the season, and Andorra delivers great conditions. Even better, the slopes rarely feel crowded, so there’s room to make the most of it.
Grandvalira is also home to one of Europe’s best ski schools, with lessons that turn nervous beginners into confident improvers in no time. More experienced skiers and boarders can sign up for classes and clinics to sharpen their technique.
It’s an easy start to the day too. The Casale is just 650m from the El Tarter chairlift, with equipment hire at the Nordic sports only 600m away and right by the lifts. If you’ve booked tuition, the Grandvalira Ski School meeting point is at the top of the lifts.
