Chalet Castor is just one of six Neilson-run ski chalets which make up a mini-village in the picturesque area of Peisey Vallandry, just below Les Arcs 1800. Sitting on a steep hillside and very close to the lifts linking you to Les Arcs and across the valley to La Plagne, you can't beat the west-facing views and dreamy sunsets.

The chalet has been very well laid out with a pair of large ensuite bedrooms on each floor, particularly ideal for families taking two rooms as it affords a nice amount privacy. The Castor and four of the other chalets are identical in size and layout, all sleeping between 11 and 15 people. If you want more room, Chalet Hermine is larger as it sleeps 15-18 guests.

Head to your home-from-home after a day's exploring in the massive 425km Paradiski area to an afternoon tea with freshly-made cake and biscuits. Kick back on the large sofas, warm up in front of the fire and swap stories. Or for a little more relaxation and rejuvenation, each chalet has its own sauna and outdoor hot tub to soak in the snowy valley views.

This is quite a unique chalet village as it's completely interlinked with a series of paths and quite a few steps. The top most chalet and the one closest to the lifts is Neilson Chalet Hermine. It's not only the largest out of the six chalets, but houses the ski lockers for all chalets.

About the resort...

Peisey Vallandry is a small collection of hamlets just below Les Arcs with a small selection of shops, bars, restaurants, a cinema and a bank. It's the place to be for easy access to all of Les Arcs 200km of runs, plus the high-speed link to neighbouring La Plagne and the other half of the 425km Paradiski ski area. The lifts are excellent and quick so you spend more time on the slopes than waiting to get on them!

With guaranteed snow thanks to a snow sure glacier, there's so much terrain here that all levels of skier and snowboarder will be kept happy. All of the runs around Peisey Vallandry are wide and tree-lined which makes for a great cruisy training ground and a lovely home run at the end of the day (or through the trees for the more advanced). Or why not stop off for a bit of après at the new Folie Douce? There's a ski bus from the bar which drops you pretty much back to the chalet too!

Higher up, Les Arcs is split into four villages, all of which have a different feel and appeal. Nightlife is quiet in Peisey Vallandry with only a handful of places to eat and drink, but you can hop on the ski bus or in a cab and head up to the livelier Les Arc 1800 for a bigger choice of bars and restaurants.
