The Lodge couldn't sit in a better position as it's just off the resort's main street and only about 600m to the nightlife and lifts, yet far enough away for a good night's rest!

Thanks to a full refurbishment a few years ago, you'll be relaxing in comfort and style. Sink into a deep sofa in front of a gently crackling fire whilst sipping a well-earned drink from the well stocked bar. And you'll need a sit down after exploring the enormous Val d'Isère - Tignes ski area.

For extra relaxation, there's a large sauna and a steam room to help get your legs ready for another day on the slopes. After hitting the wellness area, your Neilson team will make sure you want for nothing as they serve up delicious evening meals including wine on six evenings a week.

On the slopes, our Neilson Mountain Experts will guide you around the pistes while offering up coaching tips to help you become more confident on your skis or snowboard. They're all professional instructors local to Val d'Isère, so there's not much they don't know about the resort.

When it's time to head to bed, you'll be glad of the deep mattresses and comfy furnishings in your room. There's plenty of space to relax and make the place your own for the week.

About the resort...

Many come to Val d'Isère and divide their time between skiing, après and shopping. Its legendary nightlife is both abundant and lively with over 60 bars, restaurants and nightclubs to choose from.

The Val d'Isère - Tignes ski area claims to be one of the best ski areas in the world, and we agree. It offers an enormous variety of cruising runs and some far-reaching off-piste too. Head for ‘La Langue du Glacier' on Grande Motte above Tignes. It's wonderfully scenic without being difficult to ski or board.

Good news for hotel guests is that the old four-person gondola in La Daille has been replaced with 50 new high speed gondolas that can take 10 people each. They've been designed by Pininfarina (as have the likes of Ferraris and Maseratis), so you'll be travelling in speed and style!

With two glaciers in the area (try doing both in a day), you’re guaranteed snow so there’s nothing to stop you covering the miles during the day. Most of Val d’Isère‘s lifts are long and rapid meaning you spend more time actually having fun rather than queuing up!

The resort has spent €16m replacing the old Solaise Express chairlift with a high-speed, 10 person gondola, as well as redeveloping the area at the top of the Solaise with a panoramic restaurant.

If you love shopping, you’ll love it here. There are boutiques, designer outlets and sports shops a plenty. Dine out in the many restaurants and bars or kick back in the hotel after a gorgeous meal before heading out to party the night away.

Or if you’re looking for a bit of rejuvenation, there’s the Centre Aquasportif with a beach world (leisure pool, river currents, water cannons etc), a spa world (saunas, steam baths etc), a sports world (climbing walls, weights room etc) and a wellbeing world for massage and beauty treatments - something for everyone.

Food and drink

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Breakfast is a fairly extensive affair with cooked and continental options every day. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and served with complimentary wine, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

Rooms

The rooms here are a really lovely size with plenty of warming wood and mountain-inspired furnishings for a cosy stay.

They all have excellent facilities like a flat screen TV and a full ensuite bathroom with bath or shower and separate wc. Most of the 41 bedrooms have a balcony and are twin or double rooms, but around 15 of them can also take an extra bed suitable for an adult or child.

Neilson Mountain Experts

Don’t forget that you get free guiding and coaching throughout the week from fully qualified ski and board instructors with our Mountain Expert service.

Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.

There are at least three sessions a week and we guarantee each guest at least two sessions a week. Your hosts will explain how it works when you get there.
