Holiday highlights
Ski, ski and more ski
Thanks to the location of the Neilson Hotel Del Clos, just 350m from the main gondola and chairlift, getting onto the slopes of Grandvalira couldn't be simpler. And when it's time to call it a day, there's no need to haul your kit around. Leave it at the Nordic sports shop by the chairlift or back at the hotel and get on with the important stuff: a soothing massage, a stroll through town, or a well-earned après session.
Free mountain expert sessions
Free guiding and coaching throughout the week from fully qualified ski and board instructors with our Neilson Mountain Experts (NME). Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.
Around the resort
El Tarter offers plenty to enjoy on and off the mountain. Glide through snowy woodland on a husky sled, take a trip to Andorra la Vella for a little bargain hunting, or settle into a cosy restaurant for hearty Andorran dishes and warming Pyrenean favourites. Evenings can be as laid-back or lively as you like: linger over dinner and a glass of wine, or head to L’Abarset at the foot of the slopes, where music and a buzzing après-ski atmosphere keep the fun going after the lifts close.

Afternoon tea
Freshly baked treats
After a thrilling day on the mountain, there's nothing quite like returning to the welcoming aroma of freshly baked cakes and biscuits, best enjoyed with a coffee or a cup of tea. Served daily, our afternoon tea is a firm favourite with guests and the perfect way to recharge before the evening ahead.
Hotel bar and lounge
To Après, or not to après
The bar and lounge are built for après - plenty of corners to settle into after a day on the mountain. When the light's right, take your drink out to the sun terrace and watch the slopes of El Tarter turn orange.

The skiing
Grandvalira ski area
El Tarter is part of the massive 210km Grandvalira ski area, the largest in the Pyrenees. Snow conditions are good throughout the season, and you'll often find amazing snow in Andorra, comparable to some of the Alps' biggest names. With seven linked sectors, there's always plenty to explore. Better still, the slopes rarely feel overcrowded as it's one of Europe's best-kept secrets.
It's also home to one of Europe's best ski schools. They'll transform nervous beginners into confident improvers in no time. Speedy and advanced skiers can also choose from a range of classes and clinics to push their skills to the limit.
El Tarter suits skiers and snowboarders of all levels, and it also lends itself to those looking to enjoy a more laid-back week on the mountain. Swap your skis for a husky sled, snowmobile or fly through the air on a zip line in nearby Canillo.
With the Nordic Sports equipment hire shop and the closest chairlift only 300m away, you're only a short walk away from getting on the pistes. If you booked tuition, the meeting point for the Grandvalira ski school is at the top of the Gondola.
