The Chalet Montagnettes II (just like its sister chalet, Montagnettes I) is ideal for small groups of friends or a couple of families looking for a cosy and convenient base for your ski holiday. The traditional style lends itself to a warm and home-from-home atmosphere from the moment you walk in.
The lounge/diner is the real heart of this apartment-style chalet with its open fireplace warming the soul as much as the body, and the balcony which has commanding views of the surrounding peaks. Kick back with a warming drink and a slice of freshly-baked cake while you reflect on the (hopefully) excellent day you've just had on the slopes.
Location wise, you're only 50m to the nearest slope which is a blue run, so even relatively new skiers and boarders can get going quickly. The resort centre with its good selection of shops and bars is an easy five minute walk thanks to the covered walkways in Belle Plagne. You'll find the equipment hire shop in the resort centre too, making for a really convenient stay.
The small fireplace in the lounge adds to the warming atmosphere, particularly when the lights are low and the tea lights reflect in the huge lounge windows. Sink back into the sofa with and decide whether it's going to be a chilled night in or if you'll head out to sample the laid-back nightlife in Belle Plagne.
Being an apartment-style chalet means it's part of a complex of chalets so you'll also have access a couple of times a week to the shared wellness facilities. This includes a sauna and hot tub as well as a relaxation area to really unwind. There's a small charge for using the facilities, but this can be paid for locally.

About the resort
La Plagne forms one half of the 425km playground which is the Paradiski area. It really is one of the best ski areas in the world, regularly playing host to speed skiing, freeriding, freestyle and world cup events.
The terrain is varied, high and seemingly endless. The La Plagne half of the area is over 200km in itself so unless you're a hardcore mile-muncher, the local lift pass is enough. That said, it's definitely worth a trip over to Les Arcs at least once during your stay just for the cable car ride; the double-decker Vallandry Express is not to be missed!
La Plagne is made up of 10 separate villages, all at varying heights and all with a slightly different style. Being a purpose built resort, it may not be the prettiest, but it's well thought out and mostly traffic-free.
The Montagnettes is based in Belle Plagne up at 2050m where there's a nice choice of bars and restaurants and a few small supermarkets and touristy shops with the usual fare on offer. Belle Plagne is also linked to the larger and more lively Plagne Bellecôte by a cable car. This runs up until midnight giving you more options for evening entertainment.

Rest and relaxation
Being part of apartment complex means you'll have access to the small shared spa area a couple of time throughout the week. It's a lovely place to unwind after hitting the slopes all day. Soak in the wooden barrel hot tub, relax in the steam room and sauna or just truly chill out in the space.
The spa is open between 4 and 8 pm and costs around €7 per person for a 50-minute session. It's worth booking a slot early on in the week to avoid missing out. The whole spa area takes a maximum of 10 people and you can reserve it exclusively for your group for approximately €65. Unfortunately, children under 14 aren't allowed in the spa.
Food and drink
Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Start every morning with an extensive continental breakfast, and cooked options on most days. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.
Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and free-flowing wine throughout the week, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.
Rooms
Split over three floors, the five bedrooms are all light and simply furnished with plenty of character and comfortable beds. You'll also find luxurious Temple Spa toiletries in each bathroom. There's a club double room with its own ensuite bath and wc, and a club twin room with a shared separate shower and wc across the corridor on the ground floor.
The first floor has an economy single with bunk beds recommended for one adult or two children. This room shares a bathroom with the ground floor. The second floor has two club twin rooms‚ both with an ensuite shower but sharing a separate wc.
Neilson Mountain Experts
Don’t forget that you get free guiding and coaching throughout the week from fully qualified ski and board instructors with our Mountain Expert service.
Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.
There are at least three sessions a week and we guarantee each guest at least two sessions a week. Your hosts will explain how it works when you get there.
