La Plagne, France

Being such a large area lends La Plagne to being a great all-rounder. Beginners have miles of wide, gentle runs while the speedy can cruise the area all day and not ski the same run twice! The glacier makes sure that you'll always have good snow too.

Everything here is big. The choice of runs, the snowparks, the glacier; it's even home to the world's biggest cable car, the double decker Vanoise Express which links to Les Arcs (well worth a trip just for the experience).

All of our accommodation is in laid-back Belle Plagne at 2050m. It's one of 10 villages which makes up La Plagne and is purpose built in its style which means it's convenient. You can ski to and from virtually anywhere in the resort.

On the mountain

Beginner runs circle the village while the descent from the Bellecôte glacier at 3,250m to villages at 1,350m is accessible even to moderate skiers. Go from glacier to tree-lined slopes in one run and take in the awesome scenery along the way.

Experienced skiers and boarders should take the Bauches chairlift up from the glacier to fantastic black runs and awe-inspiring views. Or for even more terrain, there’s a direct link with neighbouring Les Arcs via the impressive Vanoise double decker cable car.
