About the resort
Montgenèvre is one of the oldest and most picturesque ski resorts in France. It still retains the feel and warmth of a small village whilst allowing great access to the 400km Milky Way ski area that straddles France and Italy. The runs near the resort centre are particularly suited to beginners and intermediates whilst the more advanced skier can enjoy the wider area and some fantastic off-piste.
With quaint streets, French charm, Italian flavour and a 100 year heritage, Montgenèvre is a truly traditional resort. Recent developments have actually managed to improve the already great ambience by making much of the village centre pedestrianised.
A state-of-the-art Aqua Centre provides some off-the-mountain options, but being a small mountain bolthole, there's not much in the way of shopping and après-ski. There are a few bars to choose from and they just add to the overall feel of a civilised and relaxed little resort.
