Holiday highlights
Out of this world
The Milky Way is best suited to intermediate and experienced skiers, with an impressive network of pistes linking resorts across Italy and France. Long scenic runs, sweeping cruisers and plenty of mileage make it perfect for those who love exploring, while dedicated beginner zones provide a welcoming space for newcomers to build confidence away from the crowds. Whether you're chasing fresh tracks or leisurely lunches with a mountain backdrop, there's plenty here to keep you coming back for more.
Ski Guiding & Coaching
Make the most of the Milky Way with our free Mountain Expert guiding and coaching sessions, available exclusively to Neilson guests. Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and boarders, combining insider knowledge, guided skiing and coaching tips to help you get even more from your time on the mountain. At least one session runs each day throughout the week.
Hot Tub & Sauna
Cold cheeks, tired legs and a hot tub with your name on it. Some of the best moments happen after you've clicked out of your skis. Retreat to the cosy wellness area and let the hot tub and sauna work their magic, or book a sports or relaxation massage using luxurious Temple Spa products. It's the perfect way to reset before another day on the mountain.
Beyond the mountain
When the lifts stop turning, Sauze keeps things pleasantly lively. Raise a spritz on a sunny terrace, then follow the music into a cosy bar once the lights come on. The evening is yours. It’s après, Italian style.

The skiing
Milky way ski area
Sauze d'Oulx sits at the northern end of the huge Milky Way ski area, perched on a sunny plateau. 'Sunny Sauze' (as it's come to be known) is particularly popular with the Brits, and it's not a huge surprise with the resort offering a welcoming aprés ski scene as well as skiing. It's a social town with lots of energy, made even better due to the legendary skiing and boarding on offer.
As the gateway to some 400km of piste, it's a magnet for skiers and boarders who like a bit of party action as well as their time on the mountains. It's a fantastic place for intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders, thanks to endless cruisy blue runs and nearly 200kms of challenging reds. Lift pass now includes 2 days on the 6-day lift pass in Montgenèvre.
This winter, all ski resorts in Italy require everyone to wear a CE-certified helmet. Safety first - helmet hair second. Check out the full lowdown here.
At night the resort really comes to life. There's a huge amount of restaurants and bars offering a little bit of everything - live music, DJ sets and dancing, all available late into the night.
