The sleepy, surrounding area adds to the laid-back vibe, with rural villages peppering the slopes of the Taygetus Mountains.

High summer is as hot as you’d expect, with bright sunlight the norm. Temperatures are usually in the 30s, with July and August seeing the hottest days. If high summer temperatures aren’t for you, spring and autumn still see plenty of sunshine. The sea is a little fresh in spring, but still warm enough to enjoy.
