New for 2022 we’re delighted to introduce you to the wonderful Levante Beach Beachclub on the island of Rhodes.

Levante Beach is modern and contemporary with fantastic facilities for all activities. With an enviable location on a long stretch of sand and pebble beach, it enjoys a prime spot for all watersports, particularly sailing and windsurfing.

The Neilson team will be running the extensive watersports, cycling, tennis and fitness programme at Levante Beach and our wonderful childcare team will be on hand to look after your children in our kids’ clubs. Our partners, Powered by Playitas, run the hotel and hospitality side.

If fitness is your thing, you'll love the classes and training facilities at Levante Beach with a large choice of daily classes, an air-conditioned gym with fixed and free weights, CrossFit WOD's, indoor studio classes, a large, shaded outdoor fitness platform and a 'cool pool' to start the recovery - so you're ready to go again the next day.  The tennis facilities are also excellent with six courts, including a show court, two padel tennis courts and a bar for refreshments.

The real wow factor at Levante Beach has to be the six swimming pools, including a huge free form family pool, sports pool and adult-only pool, whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to relax or space to put in some laps, it’s easy to find your place for a little ‘me’ time.

With so much going on, we understand why you may find it hard to leave the beachclub, but if you do want to explore you should 100% sign up for a guided bike ride to discover the sights of the local area. Rhodes itself is steeped in history and the whitewashed car-free village of Lindos with its acropolis is close by.

After a day on the water, bikes or tennis courts, the beachfront bar is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning sunsets before heading for dinner in our restaurant or one of the local tavernas. And, at the end of a busy day, you'll enjoy returning to the modern, understated bedrooms with large private balconies or terraces. Why not make it extra special and book one of our premium suites, each with its own private pool.

Activities on the water

Dinghy sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding – take your pick, it’s all included at Levante Beach Beachclub!

Dinghy sailing

Launching from the beach, sailors will love the large sailing area and consistent winds.  We offer inclusive dinghy sailing tuition for all abilities from our expert team six days a week. Beginners make the most of the light, morning winds and will follow the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Start Sailing programme.

The wind tends to pick up in the afternoons and for our intermediate and advanced dinghy sailors, we offer RYA Level 2 plus a range of clinics on Asymmetric’s, Lasers and Catamarans. Races and an end of week regatta are the perfect way to put your skills to the test.

Equipment: We’re still working on our final kit list, but typically you can expect to find craft such as the Laser Pico, Laser 1, Laser Dart 16 catamaran, Laser Bahia and more.

More information on dinghy sailing.

Windsurfing

Levante Beach is a great destination for all windsurfers – whatever their ability. Mornings are perfect for our beginner tuition sessions with light morning winds and a calm sea, all of which makes for an excellent learning and teaching environment. Intermediate and advanced windsurfers will love the windy afternoons when we get some great conditions for blasting across the large bay.

All windsurfing tuition follows the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) teaching scheme, so you'll be progressing in a safe and fun way. If you're after a few pointers, just sign up for the group sessions with one of the team, they'll advise you of the right group for your level.

Equipment: We’re still working on our final kit list, but typically you can expect to find a range of beginner, intermediate (160-130 litres) and shortboards plus Dino rigs for children and start rigs for beginners.

Water skiing and wakeboarding

Master riding the wake, practice your slalom skills or just enjoy the buzz of being towed behind one of our ski boats. We include up to two free tows per person per week (three if you're on a 10 or 11 night holiday).

If you’re going to be spending a lot of time behind the boat, why not pre-book the premium pack? Your daily session with our ski coaches will enable you to learn or progress your skills. The team will try to book your slots when the conditions are best so you can get the most out of every session. The premium pack will also give you enough time to try a bit of everything, you’ll get six 15-minute tows for just £150 per person.

Kayaking and paddle boarding

Non-sailors can get out on the water in one of our kayaks and can even join an organised kayak safari or try stand up paddle boarding (SUP), a relaxing way to get in the water and a great addition to any fitness programme. You are welcome to go kayaking at any time that the beach is open but must remain in the sailing area and our instructors are always on hand if you need some pointers.

Equipment: Gemini single and double sit on top kayaks; Red Paddle Co stand up paddle boards (10'8") and XXL stand up paddle board (8 man).

Wind conditions

The typical wind force ranges from 2-4, with gentle cross-onshore conditions in the morning and stronger offshore winds later in the day. The thermal Meltemi winds are typical of this area and are strongest during July and August, but you may also experience them in June or September. When the Meltemi blows you can expect moderate winds in the morning, picking up to force 4-5 in the afternoon.

Activities on the shore

Back on shore, there are even more activities for you to enjoy with tennis, fitness, mountain biking, road cycling and a gym.

Tennis

At Levante Beach, we have six AstroTurf tennis courts, one of which is a show court and two padel tennis courts. All are floodlit for extended play and there’s a tennis bar for refreshments.

There’s an extensive range of inclusive coaching options from our tennis team, free play, and social tennis. For a little extra we have a Premium offering for those who already play tennis regularly. With just eight places in the Premium group, we recommend pre-booking to save your spot.

Our two padel tennis courts are brand new and we guarantee you'll have a great time trying this great sport. The rules generally follow those of regular tennis but you'll find it's easier, really quick to pick up and a great ice-breaker (there is a small supplement for padel tennis). There is also a multisport court for basketball and five-a-side football.

We provide a selection of adult and child rackets from Babolat.

Cycling

The island of Rhodes is a paradise for cyclists with an excellent network of lovely cycling routes to suit all abilities. Road cyclists will love the smooth tarmac roads with long gentle climbs, equally long descents and plenty of steep climbs. Combined with very little traffic and inspiring views Rhodes is right up there with the best of our road cycling destinations.

The mountain biking is just as good with beautiful coastal routes, quiet rural roads, rocky paths and dry riverbeds, fruit orchards, olive groves, sleepy villages, craggy mountain ranges and swathes of cypress and pine trees.

There are several guided rides each day; intermediate and challenging rides tend to leave early to make the most of the cooler mornings before the sun reaches its highest. Easier rides tend to be shorter, along the flat ground where possible and leave late afternoon.

The bikes are also available to take free riding, just find a friend to accompany you and you are free to explore at your leisure.

Mountain bikes: Boardman Bikes MHT 8.8  in a range of sizes (small, medium, large, x-large)

Road bikes: Boardman Bikes SLR 8.9 in a range of sizes (x-small, small, medium, large, x-large)

Premium bikes: Boardman Bikes SLR 9.2 road bike with carbon frame in a range of sizes (x-small, small, medium, large, x-large) is available to reserve for your exclusive use throughout your holiday, with a custom set-up and routes uploaded to your Garmin upon request, all for just £95 per person, per week.

Local area

Levante Beach Beachclub is on the island of Rhodes, the largest island in the Dodecanese group of islands and is known as the ‘Island of the Sun God Helios’ being far enough south to enjoy long hours and days of sunshine. Rhodes is known for its crystal clear sea, endless sandy beaches, spectacular sunsets, archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Medieval City.

Our beachclub is situated on Afandou Beach, the nearest small village of Kolymbia is about 1.5km away. The main street, lined with eucalyptus trees, has a selection of bars, restaurants and small shops. There’s a rocky headland which separates two beaches and a small, pretty harbour.

Slightly further afield is Afandou, located in a valley full of fruit and olive trees, it is one of Rhodes' oldest villages. The square in Afandou is buzzing with locals meeting for coffee and watching the world go by.  At the square is also the church of Panagia Katholiki, the Catholic Virgin Mary, which is built on the ruins of an early Catholic basilica and is decorated with frescos dating from the 17th Century.

A few kilometres north of Afandou you will find Ladikos Bay with the two beautiful beaches Ladiko Bay and Anthony Quinn Bay, both of which are worth visiting for their cliffs and crystal clear waters.

Lindos

Lindos is known as one of Rhodes' most beautiful villages. The whitewashed small houses are located along narrow alleys that look up the slope where the famous acropolis is located. The stunning 10th Century acropolis was fortified through the ages by the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Knights of St John and the Ottomans. Car-free, this unspoilt village is an enchanting warren of cobbled alleyways; with glimpses of history around each corner, don’t miss the ornate frescoes in the 14th Century Church of Panagia.

Rhodes Town

The island’s capital, Rhodes Town, is a must-see. Here you can get a real taste of the Middle Ages in the UNESCO-listed old town. Enclosed within honey-coloured walls, a warren of stone streets packs in galleries, museums and a 14th-century knights’ palace. The cobbled passageways are also home to tucked-away boutiques and cafés, where you can stop off for a coffee or meze. To get a real taste for the place you can soak up stunning views all around as you take a 4km walk around the city walls, built on top of the Byzantine fortifications between 1330 and 1522, bring your head for heights!
